After you enter our contest why not make this fabulous Strawberry and Brie Bruschetta and serve it at your own movie screening (okay maybe girls movie night in). This recipe is going to be in your favorites box forever once you try it:
Strawberry and Brie Bruschetta
12 slices French bread, cut 2 cm. thick
1/4 (50 ml) cup butter, softened
1/4 (50 mL) cup packed brown sugar
1 teaspoon (5 mL) ground cinnamon
1 small brie cut into 6 wheels
2 cups (500 mL) of sliced stemmed California strawberries
1/2 cup (25 mL) sliced almonds, toasted
Heat the oven to 375ºF (190ºC).
Spread 1 side of each bread slice with butter. Arrange, butter side up, on a large baking sheet. In a small bowl, combine sugar and cinnamon. Sprinkle approximately 1 teaspoon (5 mL) over each slice of bread. Reserve remaining sugar mixture.
Toast the bread in the oven. Top each piece of toasted bread with 1 wedge of cheese. Return the bread to the oven. Bake until the cheese is melted. Meanwhile, in large bowl, combine the strawberries and the remaining sugar mixture. Toss lightly. Spoon the strawberry mixture over each toasted slice of bread and sprinkle with almonds. Serve immediately.
Makes 2 servings but easily multiplies to serve as many as needed. This is a great any time party recipe.
Don’t forget to send me a quick email. You could easily be the winner of two free screening tickets to the Toronto International Film Festival!*
* Entrants must be 18 years of age or older and be able to get to the festival in Toronto on a day between September 9 to 19th 2010.

I love strawberry shortcake. To me strawberries mark the beginning of summer. They are fresh and have a distintive flavour. They always take me back to my memories of the strawberry festivals put on by the churches. It is one of my fondest memories and today I still love strawberries.
Strawberries have to be my alltime favorite berry there are just so many things you can do with them from topping ice cream to putting in a cheese cake to making freezer jam they are just delicious no matter what you do with them.
I would love to go to the Toronto Film Festival I have always heard so much about it and it has always seemed so interesting .i think it would be a great night out.
Wow! This looks and sounds so good. MY brother is coming to town and loves Brie so I will definitely be serving this. I wonder how it will taste with a little Port.
Also I was in Key West recently and had a chocolate grilled cheese. It was melted brie and melted chocolate on bread. It was unbelievably good, fantastic etc.
So I was wondering if I sprinkled some shaved dark chocolate on the Brie while melting and then topped with strawberries. I think I will try it both ways
