I was recently given a few jars of those Indian food cooking sauces from someone who knows I love Indian food. I find them great for quick and easy dinners during the week when I am busy. This brand was a new one to me – Sharwoods.

I chose the Tikka Masala sauce because it is supposed to be good with chicken and I had two chicken breasts to use. All I had to do was cut the chicken into smaller pieces, cook them in a bit of oil, then add the sauce and cook for 20 minutes. I added some frozen vegetables because I love one pot meals during the week. The vegetables I added were mostly peas and cauliflower because they are typically used in Indian cooking. While that was cooking I cooked up some basmati rice to serve with it.

So, easy easy right? Less than 30 minutes from start to eating. But how would it taste? Most of these Indian sauces are pretty good. Well this one was absolutely amazing!! The best Tikka Masala I have ever tasted outside of a great Indian restaurant.

I couldn’t believe the difference between this sauce and others I have used in the past. The seasoning is perfect – tasty but not hot. My mouth waters as I write this.

It was so good I just kept eating. Can’t wait to get at the leftovers tonight.

I have three other sauces to try so I am thinking of inviting a couple of friends over and having an Indian feast. There is also a wonderful Mango Chutney, so you just know we are going to eat like queens. The Indian feast of Diwali comes up mid October so I may have a Diwali feast with the other sauces.

If you like Indian food but don’t have the time or inclination to make it all yourself, try Sharwoods. Apparently they are available in major grocery stores across Canada now. Definitely worth it. Best Indian food I have had in a long time, including my last visit to a local Indian restaurant.

Major thumbs up for this one.
