I was invited to a launch of the new line of Jenn Air kitchen appliances last week. They unveiled their new high end refrigerators, stove tops, wall ovens, stoves and dishwashers. They are all absolutely beautiful! Jenn Air has made all sorts of design and technological changes to create top of the line appliances that will compete easily with anything currently on the market.

The most noticeable changes visually are two new finishes that I think will be the new trends in appliances. Many people love stainless steel appliances but they can be difficult to keep clean, even with the advances in the finish over the years.

What’s coming up in the look of major appliances? How about a rich oiled bronze finish or my favorite, floating glass – yes floating glass. Don’t ask me how they do it but the floating glass finish is available on all of their appliances in either black or white and is absolutely fabulous! The black looks like a velvety dark charcoal. The finish resists fingerprints and dust and is very easy to clean. Just use window cleaner.

The oiled bronze was more difficult to see in the lighting available, but it is a rich, warm finish that coordinates with oiled bronze lighting fixtures that are so popular now.

So, what do you think? Is stainless steel finally on it’s way out? Post a comment here to share your thoughts.
